‘New’ parts for the Sun Chariot
In November 1998 the find-spot of the Sun Chariot was examined again, this time with a metal detector. This re-examination of the site produced results. No fewer than 21 parts from the chariot were found on this occasion – spokes, wheel rings and axles – 96 years after the Sun Chariot itself was first found. These parts have now been meticulously assembled by conservators so that the Sun Chariot can now appear in even more complete form.
